About GPSfart

How we measure speed

GPSfart uses the speed your device reports. If the device only reports its location, the tool divides the distance between two readings by the time between them. It skips readings when the device reports that the location could be off by more than 30 metres.

Current speed and trip average

The speed on the dial is an average of the latest reliable readings. Your trip average is the distance measured divided by the time the tracker was running. The typical speed ranges are examples. Road surface, traffic and how you travel can all affect your speed.
